In Bible times, there was no official Mother’s Day as we know it today; however, the Bible does mention many things relating to mothers and their positive attributes. Below is a list of Bible verses that talk about these attributes.

Isaiah 66:13
“As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; and you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”

3 John 1:4
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”

Proverbs 31:26
“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness.”

Proverbs 31:28-29
“Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.’”

Psalm 127:3
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.”

Proverbs 31:10
“Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.”

Isaiah 49:15
“Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you.”
